This year, we celebrated our 10th birthday! We’ve come quite a long way from our scrappy days back in 2013, and we couldn’t have done it without all of you. Thank you, as always, for everything you do for us and our community. Let’s take a look back at our 10th year in business, and look forward to number 11!
Looking Back
On our software side, we launched an incredible new feature — Attendance! The new Attendance feature lets you track resident attendance and participation in events and experiences. We’ve already logged more than 125,000 check-ins. Though Attendance overshadows all of our other 2023 software achievements, we accomplished much more, including additional Insights reports, and Organization Settings that give you more granular control over how our software works for your campus.
I think I’ve said this next part about 100 times now: from day one, we have strived to be contributing members of our community, rather than just a vendor who happens to be in our space. As part of that goal, we invest a lot of time and money into creating content for our field. In 2023, we expanded our blogging team and our podcasting team, and their efforts have been incredible.
To further add to our contributions to our community, we launched two new training programs in 2023. Pro-Devo in a Bag are free sessions that you can use for professional development with your team over lunch (or not!) Our Student Staff Development Curriculum is a complete, year-long curriculum for student staff members. The best part about both of these programs is that you don’t need to be a Roompact client to use them. We include some additional tips for Roompact clients, but they are specifically designed to benefit anyone, regardless of software choice.
And to wrap up the year, we are making additional donations for our 1% For Student Affairs initiative. Our annual donations total in the 5-figure range, and we do not receive anything in return for these donations. It is solely a donation for the sake of funding our industry non-profits. No sponsorships, no logos plastered anywhere, nothing. For the 3rd year in a row, we will be earmarking these for the ACUHO-I Regional organizations.
Looking Forward
In our software, we look forward to upgrading our Resident pages, building a connection between our Attendance and Events features, and adding several more feature upgrades to our software. We also plan on expanding Organization Settings so that you can further customize how your staff uses Roompact. We build features directly based on your feedback, and we appreciate the guidance you give us.
As part of our approach to contributing and investing in our community, we have started sponsoring webinars and plan on building out this aspect of our content contributions even more in 2024. We also plan on building out our software training and converting to a new portal for support documentation.
Overall, with 10 years behind us, Roompact very much feels like a well-oiled machine. We will continue to listen to your feedback, build, and refine our work.
