Roompact’s “Top 10” Most Popular Content of 2023

Every year, Roompact puts out a ton of content on topics of interest to college student housing and residence life professionals. This year included nearly 200 new posts, including 45 new podcast episodes and 4 webinars. Come take a look at our most viewed content of 2023.

Our top two most popular new posts of 2023 both had to do with the training exercise known as Behind Closed Doors (BCDs). Natasha asks if BCDs is a training tradition worth keeping, while Rose shares her research on how to make BCDs the most educational experience possible.

Our content related to re-imagining the student staff position and role also proved incredibly popular. We ran a series by many writers about their thoughts, and also hosted a podcast episode with the staff at Arkansas Tech to discuss changes they made and the results they found.

Our residential curriculum content always proves popular and one post, which provides a more formal cited rationale for the approach, resonated with many readers. A little bit of fun with Ted Lasso didn’t hurt, either.

Two pieces of content related to the work of resident advisors and student staff racked up a lot of views. One opinion piece delved into the traditional use of bulletin boards and their effectiveness, while another described how to use sociograms to help staff better understand their communities.

We started creating content specifically geared towards RAs and student staff this year, and two of those posts made our top ten. One piece provides tips for how to create engaging bulletin boards, while the other gives team builder and icebreaker ideas.
