Via Welcomes Dave Saben as Chief Executive Officer

Get to know Via’s new CEO: Dave Saben

Dave Saben was raised in a family that placed a high value on small business and entrepreneurship. From a young age, he was interested in business. “My family’s dinner conversations often revolved around business ideas and strategies to improve their family’s business.” Over time, Dave’s curiosity and love for business led him to explore new areas, such as information technology, coding, and website building.

During his college years in Miami, Dave met his wife, and they have been happily married for 25 years with three children named Nyla, Ana, and Dylan and their dog (a Shiba Inu) named Luna. While pursuing his education, Dave became increasingly aware of the shortcomings of the American education system and decided to use his knowledge of the latest technologies to improve it. He actively worked with organizations to bring innovative solutions to the education sector, with a keen focus on bridging the gap between traditional education and modern technology.

When Dave first learned about Via, he was intrigued by its rapid growth and success in a relatively short period. He believed that their products had the potential to capture a larger market share with the right technical expertise.

However, what stood out to Dave was Via’s company culture and values, which impressed him after meeting with the Board Members and Investors. “I appreciated their commitment to achieving business success while fostering a supportive and respectful environment for their associates and colleagues.”

What’s Next for Via?

“I envision Via becoming the market leader in travel relationship management for students across international boundaries, driven by a strong focus on reliability, trust, and service,” says Dave.

The company will leverage cutting-edge technologies, automation, and innovative solutions to offer their partners a streamlined and hassle-free environment. The team at Via will continue to build on their talent and passion to deliver exceptional customer service and meet their clients’ needs. “They will prioritize building solid relationships with their partners, ensuring they can provide a best-in-class experience.”

Dave’s goal for Via is to create a company that not only achieves business success but also positively impacts the lives of students, administrators, and program sponsors. As someone who values collaboration and teamwork, he believes that working together in a positive and supportive environment can achieve even greater success and make a real impact in the industry.

Dave Considers Global Experiences “Essential”

“My experiences abroad have been some of my most enriching and transformative moments.” Dave states. He has spent a significant amount of time in Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America, immersing himself in the local culture and learning about the people’s customs, traditions, and way of life. “I believe that having global experiences is essential for personal growth and development. It allows us to gain a broader perspective on the world, understand and appreciate different cultures, and learn new ways of thinking and problem-solving.”

Dave’s next travel bucket-list is full of exciting destinations and experiences that he cannot wait to explore, including Africa’s diverse wildlife habitats, Spain’s vibrant arts and literature scene, and India’s rich history and traditions.
