Roompact in 2022: Some “Insights” Into Our Year

At Roompact, 2022 was truly our best year yet. Our team has navigated “the new normal”, and numbers-wise, more campuses than ever trust us to provide them with software. Let’s take a look at a few of our highlights from the past year…

Looking Back

B Corp Certified

After about a year and a half of hard work, we finally became a Certified B Corp! We’ve always put “people” — our employees, clients, students, and our community — over “profit”, and becoming a Certified B Corp was our next logical step. Read more about our certification here.

We also made our annual donation as a part of our effort to give back to the field through our 1% for Student Affairs initiative. This year we are making donations to each of ACUHO-I’s Regions and to the National Institute for Native Leadership in Higher Education (NINLHE).

ResEdChat-Podcast-Art

At Roompact, we have always strived to truly contribute to our field — not just with our product, but also with content. In 2022, we expanded our content-based contributions by building out our first Roompact Blogging Team and by rebooting our “ResEd Chat” Podcast with Dustin Ramsdell at the helm. As a leading Residential Education vendor, we find it important to support contributions to industry conversations, and we’re grateful for all of our colleagues who help make it happen.

Insight Reports - NEW

We had a huge new feature launch this year: Insights! For years, we have dreamed of a feature like Insights. Our campuses put so many “data points” into Roompact, and assessing that vast amount of data is invaluable. Well, Insights makes that assessment a heck of a lot easier. We’ve already heard how Insights allows campuses to identify things they’ve never been able to before.

We hosted our annual meetup in conjunction with the ACPA Institute on the Curricular Approach in Baltimore, MD. As the world has opened up a little bit more with each passing month, it’s been wonderful to start seeing all of you in person again.

Looking Forward

We have some incredible new features and feature improvements planned for 2023. Our software engineering team is 100% comprised of former Student Affairs practitioners, and it shows. They are able to understand the needs of our campuses and translate those needs into software features in an incredibly thoughtful manner. It’s a sight to see, and we’re proud of this work.

Roompact Training

We also plan on deepening the training resources we provide. Several years ago, we set a goal to vastly improve our training resources. We accomplished that goal — we think our training resources are unparalleled. Our next step is to go deeper by providing resources for campuses with specific use-cases and furthering the knowledge of clients who have been using Roompact for years. We want to help you become Roompact super-users!

And finally, we will continue to forge our own path as a Student Affairs Certified B Corporation. We’ll continue our initiatives like 1% For Student Affairs, and we’ll work to become a better vendor each day. Please reach out if there’s anything you think we could be doing better.

To close us out, I’d like to point out that in 2023, Roompact will be celebrating its 10th year in business. When we got started, I definitely knew that Roompact would be around for a long time, but I couldn’t say with certainty how much I would still love working on it. My co-workers and all of our clients are such a pleasure to work with, and I pinch myself because I am so lucky to have the opportunity to do what I do. To quote Andy Bernard in the series finale of the television show The Office, “I wish there was a way to know you’re in the ‘good old days’ before you’ve actually left them.” Well, we’re in the “good old days” at Roompact, and we are all incredibly grateful for each of our clients. Here’s to many more “good old days” ahead!

Thank you!
