Roompact is Hiring Part-Time Bloggers for 2023… [CLOSED]

We’re hiring! If you or someone you know is an amazing writer with a housing and residence life background, take a look at our new Freelance Content Contributor position. We’re hiring for four of these positions. Applications close on January 31, 2023. Interviews will be in February with an expected start date of March. See below for the position description.

To apply, fill out the quick Google Form at the link below. In order to assess your writing, we ask that you write a sample blog post responding to the prompt “What is the future of the RA role?” You can take this in any direction you’d like.

The first 20 people submitting (even if you are not hired) will receive a $50 gift card to Goldbelly as a thank you for your labor in writing the sample blog post. Additionally (even if you are not hired), we may wish to post your writing to our blog. If selected, you will also receive a personalized caricature of yourself done by our artist as an additional thank you. (Roompact reserves the right to reject any blog post submissions, and therefore thank you gifts, for any reason.)

Your post should be at least one page, single-spaced, in 10-12 point font with standard 1 inch margins.

Freelance Content Contributor

Thank you for your interest in Roompact! We’re growing and looking to expand our team. Specifically, we need help with developing more content for our blog. Our goal is to constantly be producing content that can aid residence life and housing professionals in their work. This content may be more Roompact related (software centric) or provide a general resource to any residence life professional. We are looking for diverse perspectives and content matter experts to provide new voices to Roompact.

We’re looking for three folks who can make at least a 1-year commitment (13 months) to this position.  It will run from March 2023 through (including) March 2024. It will require approximately 3-4 hours a month, brainstorming, writing, and editing new material for the Roompact blog. While not a full time role, it may be a great opportunity to engage in a passion of yours and make some extra money while doing it. We’ve calculated a “salary” of $100 per month/blog post, for a total of $1,300 across the 13 months. It would not come with additional benefits. This position will likely not lead to a full time position, but could give the right person who’s interested in working “higher education adjacent” a feeling of what that may be like.
