I went from my undergraduate degree in 1988 into a role as a Logistics Manager for Vichy L’Oreal. The job involved using a stand-alone PC, a telephone to the factory in France, and a weekly Telex to Paris. I was appointed on the basis that I spoke French. I couldn’t write French for caramel au beurre (toffee), but I could speak it. No one asked me at my interview whether I had any computer skills or indeed whether I was numerate.

The Higher Education Inquirer is looking for images to document the College Meltdown which began in 2010. The US Department of Higher Education posts hundreds of campus closings each year. Images of these closed schools can be used to document an important part of US higher education history. Closed campuses vary in size, from high school classrooms, hotel conference rooms, and store fronts, to satellite and branch campuses, to small private colleges, and larger career colleges.

All employees must certify their leave balances by Sept. 7

CU Work-Life Balance

Each year, per Board of Regents Policy 11-E , the University of Colorado requires all employees to verify the accuracy of their sick and vacation leave in the employee portal. This year’s leave certification will run until Sept. 7. This annual process helps to ensure all employee’s leave balances are accurate each year. Who needs to certify? As part of the Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), leave certification expands to all employees enrolled in the State Sick Leave plan.
