Veda Huang created an empathetic, integrated mobility solution for her Transportation Design Graduate thesis project, securing her a bronze Creative Conscience Award.

Her thesis project, “Going Home, Giving Hope,” offers a solution that aims to help heal and rebuild a post-war Syria by including local artisans as co-creators of both vehicles and spaces within the mobility system.

“Going Home, Giving Hope” is a modular tuk-tuk with a multi-functional system. The tuk-tuk can transform from a six-person taxi for commuting in traffic mode to a mobile shop, where the shop owner—the taxi driver—can sell crafts or products.

Creative Conscience empowers, mentors and rewards the creative community to use their talents for positive social and environmental change. This is done by the various events and training programs offered, and the Creative Conscience Awards itself.
