Recognizing the great power and potential of software, the Volkswagen Group has decided to establish its own in-house software company: CARIAD. CARIAD is developing the leading tech stack for the automotive industry. That includes an operating system, cloud platform, and electronics architecture. Our tech experts are developing the software-defined vehicle, which will feature automated driving functions, a next-generation infotainment system, intelligent data aggregation, and over-the-air updates. As a team, it’s our mission to transform automotive mobility.
The scale of our work is particularly exciting. We serve all brands across the Volkswagen Group, including Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche. That means that the software solutions we’re building won’t just be implemented in a handful of models but, quite literally, in millions of vehicles. Our work will reshape the automotive experience for drivers all around the world, making mobility safer, more sustainable, and more comfortable.
Only recently, we have integrated YouTube into Audi models. While charging or taking a break, drivers can watch livestreams, catch up on the news, and enjoy content from creators. This is just one example of how we’re creating a more comfortable and convenient in-car experience.
