During your time at MIT, you’ll likely need your resume reviewed, learn how to use a cover letter, finesse your LinkedIn profile, and network with employers. MIT’s Career Advising & Professional Development office (CAPD) is the hub for all of that. Come on this tour to see the employer recruiting suite, career advising offices, and CAPD workshop space. You’ll also get to understand how teams such as Distinguished Fellowship, Career Services, and Prehealth Advising can help you clarify your purpose and take steps toward professional success.

Attention first year students and sophomores! 🎉 Want to learn about how to find an internship or other summer experience? Whether you’re just starting out or already a campus pro, this workshop will inform your internship search. In the first part of our session, we’re spilling the beans on steps to snag an internship. Then, you’ll hear from some MIT upperclassmen ready to share their experience and provide some advice. You’ll walk away with a toolkit of insider tips and resources to help you navigate your search for the right summer experience. This CAPD event is open to MIT first year students and sophomores.

Does the idea of networking stress you out? Or worse, do you avoid it because it sounds so unpleasant? In this workshop, we’ll lay out the basics of networking, informational interviewing, and the US American work culture. You’ll learn why a strong basis is crucial for your career first steps and how to go about mastering the art of networking in the US. We recommend taking the Globe Smart Quiz (https://globalsupport.mit.edu/) in advance of this event. This workshop is a collaboration of the International Students Office and Career Advising and Professional Development. The material is tailored to first year and sophomore students but will be relevant to others.
