Harvard University president Claudine Gay has submitted corrections for two previously published articles, CNN reported.
She made the changes following allegations of plagiarism, which the Harvard Corporation reviewed; it found “a few instances of inadequate citation” but “no violation of Harvard’s standards for research misconduct,” according to a statement released last week. The board affirmed its support of Gay after convening twice in the wake of her widely criticized performance at the Dec. 5 congressional hearing on campus antisemitism.
Harvard spokesman Jonathan Swain told CNN that the corrections Gay submitted concerned “quotations marks and citations.” One of the articles was published in 2001 and the other in 2017, Swain said.
In its statement last week addressing the plagiarism charges, the Harvard Corporation said Gay was “proactively requesting four corrections in two articles to insert citations and quotation marks that were omitted from the original publications.”
