When UNC-Greensboro Chancellor Frank Gilliam took the stage for his State of the Campus address earlier this month, he promised his staff two things: He wouldn’t curse, and he wouldn’t “go rogue.” Gilliam needed those guard rails, because his message wasn’t pretty. Wisconsin GOP withholds university pay raises in fight over school diversity funding - WCCO News

Leaders of the Republican-controlled Wisconsin Legislature withheld pay raises for Universities of Wisconsin employees while approving raises for other state workers on Tuesday in an ongoing fight over the school system's diversity, equity and inclusion spending. Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos, who co-chairs the Legislature's employment relations committee, has promised to block pay raises for UW employees until the school system cuts its so-called DEI spending by $32 million.

Georgetown University women’s basketball coach Tasha Butts lost her two -year battle with breast cancer on Monday. Butts was 41. Butts took a leave of absence from Georgetown last month to tend to her illness. Her diagnosis sparked a campaign to help bring about breast cancer Tasha Butts awareness. “I am heartbroken for Tasha’s family, friends, players, teammates and colleagues,” said Georgetown athletic director Lee Reed.

Debt Collective Erases Nearly $10M of Morehouse College Debt
