The former president of Mesalands Community College in New Mexico formally resigned last week, KAMR reported.

Gregory Busch and the Board of Trustees received a vote of no confidence from faculty and staff members in February due to concerns about the financial health of the college.

James P. Streetman, chairman of the Board of Trustees and secretary/treasurer of the College Foundation Board, also resigned, according to KAMR.

Busch said in his resignation letter that he inherited poorly managed finances and took appropriate steps to alleviate problems. He also said the “avoidable burdens” and the “subsequent stress and harassment” had an “irreversible and degenerative impact” on his health and exacerbated a chronic illness.
