Families can come for 15 minutes, receive the diploma, and leave, or they can stay for four or five hours and enjoy DJs, food trucks, and all that. However, you need to have those support services at the schools as well and to be able to monitor progress. We do it outside. We have a DJ. It’s an all-day affair.

They don’t have the luxury of not working because they have to pay their bills, get food on the table, maintain childcare, etc. The interesting thing is, though, when we ask currently enrolled students what keeps or helps them stay enrolled, besides seeing the value, the other number-one reason is their financial aid package.
