The annual Student Involvement Fair electrifies an energy throughout campus that reverberates into each student organization during the year. Coming in as a new student, I felt as if I were trick-or-treating on Halloween, yet there were only treats and no tricks! The College currently has over 70 student organizations.

A facet of Student Life is the Student Activities Committee, also referred to as SAC. SAC puts on an event almost every week or weekend, and of high quality. My favorites have been the various smaller events put on during the week – such as CoffeeHouse or Food Trucks in the Pine Grove. Dance Marathon.

Organize a School Club or Community Organization: ​ I have had several students start and organize clubs for their community action projects. They created objectives and goals and organized club events related to their community action projects. They create original signage for the events.

Through this experience, I was able to invite others into my passion while practicing leadership, fundraising and organizational skills. Called the Community Healing Organization, we helped organize welcome events for international students during the height of COVID-19.

My students choose one invasive species in the community to focus on. They might look at policies, removal events, education programs, and more. I have my students act on a variety of solutions including reusing, educating, and rebuilding. Students share their exhibits at a community exhibition event. They choose.

Students might collaborate with a local conservationist to design and develop a tool or method to effectively remove the species from the habitat while preserving and conserving the natural ecosystem.
