My expectations about college life were shaped by what I saw on the tv show Gilmore Girls… Rory consistently spent her free time back at home in Stars Hollow. Before college, friends warned me that small schools are often “suitcase schools,” where every student packs up and goes home over the weekend.

Hope has a ton of ways to get involved on campus, and I’m here to highlight them. Clubs There are a ton of clubs on campus. There’s a pretty comprehensive list on Hope’s website, but you’ll also see them advertised around campus. Many clubs on campus allow you to come and go as you’re able to, so there’s no pressure.

Spring Semester at Hope

Hope is a school filled with both goofy and revered traditions (which is part of the reason I was so excited to become a student here!) Many of the big, competitive traditions take place in the fall, such as The Pull or the Nykerk Cup , but there are many more events that happen every year in the winter and spring.

You don’t have to be on a Hope varsity team to play sports here; there are many intramural options. Think about your interests. Think again.

It has given me an education, put amazing people in my life, and most importantly fostered my faith for the past four years. It’s been easy to get involved, see friends when I need to, and go to church without straying too far from campus. All it took was some rehashing to figure out how to do that!
