One being soccer (how can you say no to Van Andel Soccer Stadium ?). Unfortunately for me, although coming in to school Young Life was a priority, for a while it had to take a back seat to soccer, work, studying, etc… Until now. I can’t wait to see how God uses me in this new role I’ve been blessed with.

The older kids were repeating the states after us. We also had a lot of candies and some students were not big into painting, so they played football (soccer) with local boys. When we arrived to school, we lined up and introduced ourselves and the states we are from. We were painting for about 2 and half hours.

New students still figuring out their way around the grounds, the Pine Grove cluttered with hammocks and Spikeball players, and Van Wylen Library somewhat remorsefully reopening her doors as us college-goers come to the realization that summer fun is over, and it’s time to get back to the grind. What a time to be alive.

When discussing clinical rotations, Saad says, “it asks a lot of us for a lot of time and sacrifice, and if you’re not willing to provide that then you may not see yourself be the best that you can. You typically do your clinical rotations in Canada or the US — a requirement if you want to return to Canada.

The distance between us has not at all hindered our friendship, but rather during our time apart, our relationship has blossomed. As Hope soccer coach Steve Smith likes to put it, “Xbox literally destroys my players’ GPAs.” As I have mentioned before, my closest friend Zach attends Arizona State University.

Two of the seniors on the soccer team then swing by my dorm around 10:50 and we go to Engedi Church together. After church, all members of the soccer team were invited over to the Blom household for a soup lunch. The bible does tell us to, “not worry about tomorrow, tomorrow will worry about itself”, remember?
