CCS Alumni Come Together in Shanghai & Beijing

The CCS Alumni Reception in Shanghai on November 26th was a statement of the powerful collaboration between CCS and its international graduates. Together with a smaller size alumni reunion in Bejing a few days before, this alumni event was the first official alumni gathering of CCS in the Asia-Pacific region since 2018.

Mario Moore honored with CCS’s 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award

College for Creative Study

Mario Moore had an impressive if not astounding start to his year — not only did he have a second painting installed in the Detroit Institute of the Arts (DIA), but he is also the recipient of CCS’s 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award. The museum previously installed another of his paintings, Queen Mother Helen Moore, in 2018.

It was sponsored by five academic departments and funded by the LGBTQ alumni group GALA, a separate nonprofit entity formed by LGBTQ alumni. In 2022, the university finally launched an official LGBTQ alumni affinity group, ARC. Dacey says that network hasn’t yet been seriously cultivated for LGBTQ students and alumni.
