Shapiro Signs Bill Providing Flat Funding for Penn State, Other State-Related Universities - Geoff Rushton, State College

More than four months after the budget deadline, the Pennsylvania House and Senate on Wednesday approved level funding for Penn State and two of the commonwealth’s three other state-related universities. The bill was signed by Gov. Josh Shapiro on Thursday, releasing more than $640 million in higher education appropriations.

Higher ed commission: Oregon’s public universities remain relatively pricey and underfunded

Oregon’s seven public universities have some of the highest tuition rates and lowest levels of state funding in the nation, even after recent legislative efforts to shore up their standing. Oregon currently ranks 39th out of 50 states in support for public universities and 30th in funding for community colleges, according to the commission.
